Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how Alolo Chat handles information when you use the iOS app, Alolo Chat Web, alolochat.com, and our support channels.

By using Alolo Chat, you choose what you share and can manage key privacy controls from the app settings.

Information you provide

Account information may include your phone number or email address, username, display name, profile photo, biography, verification details, and authentication credentials or tokens.

Content you choose to send may include messages, voice notes, photos, videos, files, stickers, contact cards, shared locations, stories, group information, reports, and support or feedback submissions.

If you use Exo AI, we process the prompts, images, conversation history, and responses needed to provide that feature.

Contacts

When you grant permission, Alolo Chat uses phone numbers from your contacts to help you find people you know who use the app. Phone numbers are processed on your device before data derived from them is sent to our servers for matching. We do not send your contacts' names, photos, or email addresses, and we do not retain matching data in our database after the process is complete.

Location, camera, photos, and microphone

Alolo Chat accesses your location, camera, photo library, or microphone only when you grant permission and use a feature that needs it, such as sharing a location, capturing media, sending a voice note, or joining a call.

Technical and activity information

We process device, app, network, session, security, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service. This can include IP address, device and app version, push notification tokens, public encryption keys, login sessions, crash details, and abuse-prevention signals.

Service activity can include delivery and read status, typing and presence indicators, story views, call type and duration, and the records needed to show sent, received, completed, or missed calls. Alolo Chat does not record the audio or video of your calls.

QR pairing requests and session cookies are used to link and keep approved web sessions signed in. The website also stores your language preference.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, deliver messages and media, connect calls, show contacts and stories, operate groups and Exo AI, synchronize linked sessions, send notifications, and provide customer support.

We also use limited information to prevent fraud and abuse, investigate reports, maintain reliability, improve the product, and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing and service providers

We share information with the people and groups you choose and with service providers that help us host the service, deliver notifications, connect real-time calls, store media, provide AI features, and maintain security. Those providers may process information only for their service role and under their own applicable terms and privacy commitments.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Security and encryption

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Data is encrypted in transit, and supported messaging flows use end-to-end encryption. Some metadata must still be processed to route messages, operate calls, deliver notifications, and prevent abuse.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we encourage you to protect your device, verification codes, and linked sessions.

Retention and account deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and security requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Retention periods vary by data type; temporary QR requests expire automatically and linked sessions remain active until they expire or are ended.

You can delete your Alolo Chat account from Settings > Account & Security > Delete Account. Deletion removes the account and associated service data, subject to limited information we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, or security reasons. Content already shared with others may remain in their copies. Residual backup copies may remain for a limited period before being removed in the normal backup cycle.

Your choices and contact

You can change app permissions in iOS Settings, manage privacy and notification controls in Alolo Chat, block or report accounts, end linked sessions, clear browser data, or stop using the service.

To ask about access, correction, deletion, or another privacy matter, use the official contact page on alolochat.com. We may request information needed to verify and respond to your request.
